To all students,
The registrations for Imagine Cup for 2009 are now open.
Imagine Cup is an international competition run by Microsoft open to all students (both full and part time, undergrad and postgrad) about developing solutions to real issues affecting our society today.
This year’s theme is “Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems facing us today.”
It is open to anyone interested in any area of design. The categories are:
-
Software Design
-
Embedded Development
-
Game Development
-
Robotics & Algorithms
-
IT Challenge
-
Mash Up - Developing Web 2.0 applications
-
Photography
-
Short Film
-
Design
There’s no need to panic if you can’t program software - there are categories where you don’t even have to program anything.
Prizes include cash prizes (major prize is a cash prize, and expect it to be at least US$20,000) and internships with Microsoft.
The finals this year (2009) are held in Cairo, Egypt, with all airfares, transport, select meals, and accomodation paid.
If you are unable to finish your work this year, or you feel that you need more time to spice it up, you can enter it in the 2010 Imagine Cup. The theme barely changes each year.
